    Response from Holux

    Hi Jason,

First of all, please accept my appologize on delay this model output.
Originally we already have goods and schedule as promise to Candy Hou.
While QC found the performance isn't stable as production process losting one component after sorting step by step.
Sorry it's our first mass production, and never happening this when pilot run or sampling.

Holux has 10 years experience on GPS hardware.
We are familiar on GPS product lines.
This manufacturing mistake let us learn more modest.
Last 2 weeks, we had found subcontractor re-working for us one by one and re-sorting again.
Like I meniton, it's 1st lot, we are especially careful the quality before it's out to market.

Next Tuesday, we will ship all back order to customers. Fingers Crossed.
And sorry again to keep you waiting more few days and appreciate your patience as past
Its not the cards you're dealt, its how you play the hand!

I haven't tried them out yet. I'm hoping to do a field test next week with these when I get my new Tablet PC (HP TR3000) in - likely Tuesday or so.

Well, that depends. I have both a Pharos GPS and a HAiCOM HI-204S.

If I didn't have a GPS, I'd get the newest and best. The better the GPS the faster it locks onto your position from a cold start and the more accurate it is. If I had a cheap GPS or an old one, i'd replace it with a new one. My Pharos falls in this category. I would however not replace my HAiCOM reciever as it works great as it is. I get a lock on my location in less than a minute (normally faster) which is something I love!

    Just got an update :

    Hi Peter,

I just came back from Holux. Finally we got the GR-213.
Now it's 8:57 pm. The postman will pick up all the parcels tomorrow.

Please see attached the picture to show you the standard package of GR-213.
But, this time we will include the USB to PS2 adapter cable in the package,
    as we promised.

The EMS tracking number is --------------.
We marked "Gift" with low value USD10 on the EMS,
that you won't have to pay a tax, we hope.

You may go on the website
    https://postserv.prsb.gov.tw/Trade/CN_Postal30.htm
and keyin the EMS tracking number to trace the package delivery status.

In US, you may go on the website :
    http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm

You should receive the package within 5 -7 days.

Hope you receive the GPS duly and enjoy it !

All I can say is WOW! I got my GR-213 over the weekend. It is small and well designed. Install was a snap. I just through up on my rear deck for now for testing, and I fired up Iguidance. In a matter of 10 seconds I had 8 sats. Worked amazingly well. I will be monitoring it's perfromance for a while now.
