    Yeah me too -

I plugged it in with my lappy about the middle of my house - it tracked 6 satellites. I'm a newbie with GPS though - iGuidance lists X/12 satellites, but how do you know if the "20" that it is capable of tracking are locked on?

Don't take my word for this, but I think SiRFstarIII will still output info about 12 satellites maximum, even though it is now capable of tracking up to 20 of them "internally".

It doesn't much matter to me, as I only get 9, 10, or 11 satellites in view anyway ;-)

oh btw, 8 was the max. It was at 8 of 8. All day today I've had max satalites. I even got a chance to through a mini tunnell and I only lost 2 sats. The Star III was worth the wait

Got mine this morning. It was able to pick up 6 sats from inside on my desk. It's very small.

Worked just fine with Compass and Xport, and hibernate worked properly too. Street Atlas 2004 had a problem closing, but Routis performed just fine.

So are you guys mounting it on the top of your car? or inside windshield?

I was planning on making a sharkfin and sticking it in there, but if it gets good reception, i'll just leave it inside (I still gotta test it out in my car to see how it works for me)

Chiefiwgms, I have mine on my rear deck just chilling there temporarily. I haven't seen anything less that 6 sats yet and I mostly have 8/8. I have only had it for 2 days now, but so far I am scoffing at the idea of mounting it outside!

Does the GR-213 and the GR-236 run on the same chipset? What's the difference besides one being USB and the other BT?

As you can easily find out by visiting www.Holux.Com, the GPSlim236 does in fact incorporate the SIRF Star-III Chipset. As far as differences go, I am not intimately familar with both, you can go the website and compare the two.

Went through my first big tunnel today. Of course I lost my sats, but like 15 seconds out of the other end, I was back on track. I am very impressed with the recovery time for Iguidance w/ the GR-213.

i have one big question for you befor i order mine, and please answer. What driver does it use? meaning is it a usb-to-serial? also. If you start the pc, doeas itlook for a lock, and signal when the mouse gets power or only if you start the GPS app? The older GPS recievers only start looking for lock when the app is loaded, but the Rikaline 6010 that i have right now starts looking for a lock as soon as it gets power. So by the time i get to the GPS app, it ha a lock, and gives me a nice lock wihin 2 seconds. If this GPS reciever does the ssame, i'll get it, if not, i'll stick to my Rikaline. LMK! thanx
