Sometimes GPS receivers don't aquire satellite fix quickly. Give it a half an hour and see what happens.
I just finnished my car-PC install and installed most of my software. WHile checking everything individualy, i found that iGuidance 2.0 isn't working. At first the program was set up to use the wrong com port. After i fixed that I keep getting 0/12 satilites and the GPS won't read any information. It says i am in central OH and not moveing (mybe this is the default location) when in fact i am in Eastern PA.
The only thing i didn't try was uninstalling and re-installing the GPS mouse's drivers (need to find that damn little CD lol)
Right now the GPS mouse is just sitting on my dash undert he windshield. Eventually I want to run it to the back and put it on top of the car, but i can't figure out how to get it bast the molding for the rear window. I want to put it there because i remember reading that glass can block the GPS signal. Tomorrow i might also pick up a USB extenstion and try to get the GPS mouse outside and see if it reads anything then.
If anyone has any other options that I can try, please tell me ... it will be greatly appreciated!

ok, i left my car running in my driveway for 30 min then drove around for an hour with iguidance open and nothing happened. But i didn't reinstall the drivers yet.
edit: I jsut read this ... "LED OFF:GPS receiver is off, LED FLASHING: No fix, searching for GPS signal, LED ON: Position fixed, GPS receiving signal"
The LED on my GPS mouse is ON, so maybe it's the iGuidance?
Use the software that comes with the drivers, you can download a copy of it from my server if you don't know what I'm talking about: www.xbrady.com/download/GPSinformation.exe
Check to see if it reads in the NMEA sentances. Make sure you select your com port first.

It looks promising ;-) What happens when in iGuidance you go: Tools > GPS Options > Auto Detect?
That usually works but not always.Originally Posted by Marvin Hlavac

I've got a Bu-303 and it works fine in iGuidance for me. Gotta have those drivers installed.

Also on the GPS Information program it in the GPSinfo tag, it says it is 2004/11/09 an that I am at 000`00.0000' lat and 000`00.0000' lon. Status is No Fix, speed and direction is 0 (well im' not moving) HDOP and PDOP are 50. Again, i don't know if this is good or bad, but i'm guessing bad since there is no long and lat and the date is messed up.
also what is that number on the bottom that keeps changing?
How close is your GPS mouse and your display? I had the same problem.
If your refresh is at 72 try lowering it to 60 and see if that helps if the display is any where near it.
GPS placement can also be the reason, Hook it up and put the mouse outside your car and see if you get a signal, even if it's sitting on the dash.
Did you try the fridge magnet trick as well? The GPS seems to like having a metal plane. Try putting a fridge magnet under the GPS, I know it sounds crazy but some people have had great results.

I did read something about the fridge magnet and tried that. but the same thing.
the GPS mouse is about one foot behind the LCD, I'll try changing the refresh rate now, also putting it outside.
