Cool WTF -BU303 working indoors ?!?

My BU-303 has just miraculously aquired 3 sats whilst stuck to the back of my radiator

I normally have to open my window wide and stick it ontop of the window so it protudes out far enough to get a clear sky view before it will see any?

    It still has 3...
A brick wall and a ton of roof tiles don't block it?!?! But if I put my hand above it it loses lock, could the radiator be acting like a booster antenna?

I've read somewhere that they're designed to be placed on a flat metal surface, so it may be aplifying the signal in some way.

Progress: On hold while I pay off my new PowerBook :D

They say that because they are designed to be magnet mounted on a car

It does helpstop interference by having a piece of sheet metal under it, but this thing used to lose lock outside if I clenched my fist round it, or even covered it view of the sky, even when it was on the sheetmetal

It wasn't just because of the magnet, it was for reception also. Stop tyring to make me sound like a dumbass

Not really, but having him pointing it out doesn't help either.
