    Well, I tried again, but no go. I can't believe there is no way to change the BACKGROUND color of the maps through the (C)THEME.INI file. I want to change the color specifically for the night mode. Would also like to make it all blend in nicer with my amber colored interior lights.

    Anyone, please?!

    Resolved, example:

    MBC0=255,220,128 64,48,41

    do MBC0 thru MBC3 for the 4 different color themes...

    Saw an Avic in operation today and I like the fluent flow of the map instead of the jumpy motion I get.

    Is the map movement adjustable or is this a function of a cheap GPS receiver?

    It's not bad when going slow but is terribly jumpy at highway speeds, maybe around .5s - 1s refreshes instead of a smooth movement.

    thx
    Chuck

    Most GPS receivers give new location info once per second. IGuidance and many other software products refresh screen at the same 1 Hz rate. However, some navigation products, even though they use the same 1 Hz receivers, they smooth the movement of the map in the software. (Once you see that, everything else looks so old generation technology ;-)

    Do the new SIRFIII receivers update more often? OK, this totally got off topic now!

    No, they don't. Garmin has a 5 Hz receiver, but I suspect receiver alone is not enough. The software, too, would have to be able to refresh more frequently. (Perhaps a few versions from now we will see it in our favorite products, too.)

    Been messing around with the themes.ini and reshacker. Is there a way anyone has increased the font sizes without using the iGZoom or any other zoom application? Figure maybe the only way is maybe through a hexeditor but all I was able to find and change was the font type which appears to be Tahoma. I was hoping to be able to change the font without using the zoom tools which only makes everything looks blocky.

    Hoping someone maybe hiding in the trenches has figured this out

    Thanks,
    Chuck

    chickster: Haven't found a way to do it, but here's a possible workaround. Change the font name inside iGuidance to something like "MYGPSFONT" (using ResHacker?) and then with a font utility, grab the tahoma font, rename it to MYGPSFONT, and make the size larger (in other words, make the size 24 equal to 12 on the new font file, and then iGuidance will try to display size 12, and in fact will display size 24).
