Yeah I swore like a month ago I was going to signup for the earth plus membership ($20 a year) and start using the GPS features.. The problem is that the GPS features are pretty slim, it does not appear to be well developed for that sort of thing *yet*.. It is still a Beta..?
Plus you have to be connected to the internet.
AMD XP 2600+/512MB RAM/120GB hard drive
Opus 150W/DVD/GPS/7" Lilliput TS/802.11g/Bluetooth
Installed.
-GPSSecure- - GPS Tracking
-AltTabber2.2.2- - Handy touchscreen utility.
yea the connection part sucks...what im wondering is if any of these masterminds on these forums can somehow mod the google earth software to turn it into an offline, free gps software that works well
Some of google earths best strengths IMO are the fact that it is on the internet. There is alot of webcam views and notes left by people on the keyhole forums that appear on the map. Heck there is a webcam not less than a mile from my house that appears on google earth.
Google maps, now that could be usefull offline (sat view). But thats a pain in the arse to do and google frowns on that.
Perhaps we should all stop being lazy and figure out how to get internet in the car with those tmobile and sprint hacks![]()
