Yeah I want to upgrade from the non waas BU303 to a 353 or 355 .. or the BlueTooth version, depending on how bad hibernation support is?

First off, I've been thru the Rikaline 6010, Navsync, Delorme and BU-303. If I put the reciever inside my car...no signal at all. Once I put it outside, I was recieving anywhere from 3-5 sats. But sometimes none at all. I tried the bu355 ( for hibernation purposes ) and my gps hasn't dropped since. Actually, only if I go into a tunnel. Locks in 2 seconds and I always have from 7-11 sats. I highly recommend the 353 or 355. If anyone wants to try their luck...I have two used Rikaline 6010's and one DeLorme receiver.

btw..my car is tinted and it's mounted on my dash.

I agree with DK888, in regards to the recommendation I would definitely look into the 353 or 355. I personally own the 353 and it works like a charm. I get good locks in my apartment (on the first floor of 3 floors). I haven't had a chance to test it in an automobile as I haven't got to installing my carputer, however, from what I've seen so far I love it. Works like a charm, though I have no room for comparison.

Man if it works inside, then thats definitely the one. I even tried to hang my BU-303 out of the window of my place to test it, and still couldn't get a lock. I wish I hadn't have bought one already. Ill probably put it up on ebay and get the 355 with the serial port. I was told it gets a lock faster, or doesn't have that problem with iGuidance first opens up and gives you the message that it can't find the GPS receiver. I have to hit the button, and then it will get a lock after a few seconds.

Round VIII - [IIIIIIIIII] 30% Have some parts for 300zx Sema car I don't own yet. Will have 10.4" & 7" screen, and more then you can believe. Will add updates to cleancustoms.com, will be sweet. My car is still same, but might change.

I think I ended up getting my BU353 off ebay for 60 dollars shipped. I searched the web for a cheaper price, but didn't find any.

I can't vouch for it getting a lock faster, as again I have nothing to compare since this is the only GPS receiver i've ever owned. But, when using Iguidance I do not have any window pop up that mentions it can't find the GPS receiver on start up. So that part is definitely true.

wow... my BU-303 has worked perfectly... I've got the newest holux drivers and have it mounted underneath my rear bumper (fiberglass - it's a camaro!)

I did have problems when it was mounted on my front dash, It was intermittent trouble... The only reason that I could see was the heat that it expereinced. When I would remove it from direct sunlight it would begin to function again shortly thereafter....
