I know I am still a n00b but here this goes. I am not happy with people coming in here and asking questions that I know have been asked a thousand times and have already been fully answered. I read the forum, up to 3-4 times a day and even on subjects that pertain to nothing I'm going to do to my SUV. Put simply, it is annoying to read questions that have been previously answered. Countering that, it is also annoying to consistently hear the same responses to these questions. If you want this to stop, don't post anything back. Let the thread have no postings instead of going on a 2 page rant. I read this thread because I thought someone might post something interesting that actually would apply to car computers, but instead read 2 pages of BS (Mostly, some posts did apply).
The thing is that some (not all) of you guys that responded hostile to the n00b that asked the question (whether he may have deserved it or not-he did), took as much time writing your post (rant) as it would have taken just to find the GPS post for him and copy/paste it. Or even retype enough of it to set him straight.
Many of the people that insult the n00bs for asking stupid questions are consistent. As much as you are tired of hearing those questions, i'm tired of hearing responses like this. The only thing I can figure is that some of you get pleasure out of upsetting these people, and in all honesty, they aren't worth your time to hit submit reply in the first place.
Last Point: Many times someone is hostile they boil it down to "stupid arrogant Americans" or something similar. Although I have never been to the UK I would like to visit it at some point in my life, but it is strange that some people from the UK have a bad impression of Americans or vice versa. In short, can't we all just get along?

Hey ChewE. How about you stop being defensive and stop fighting about this. You could have learned how to use the search button by now. Damn, was that response too American for you?
I pointed him to the answer to his question in post 8 but since I'm an American I'm an ignorant ***** so that wasn't very useful I guess.

I did state in my post that some of you did try to help him. And did say that people that generalize us all as "stupid arrogant Americans" are ignorant or vice versa (any country for that matter). And also do realize that he (ChewE or whatever) answered with a good level of hostility as well. Sometimes though, it is just better to ignore people. Plus, if they don't get any replies maybe they'll leave. Maybe I'm too hopeful.

wtf is a center consoul? is it something to do with black magic?
I'm from brazil does that mean I'm bad at answering questions (US) or good (UK)???
seriously this thread is cracking me up....
Mate, drop it.... you asked a general question which doesnt have a real unique answer. you were told to search (not because u were slapped SEARCH NOOB, but because your question requires reading different opinions)... you got ****y.... now you understand but still dont want to say "ops, sorry, yeah the best way would have been to search"...
so either: swallow it in, and get on with your life.... research and see what gps software suits you best, and post questions you have doubts on...
or: get lost and never come back here
or still: make another account, stop being an arse, and no one will ever know about your stupid start here on mp3car.com
Cheers...
