I'd say get streets and trips 2006, it seems to have more detail than iGuidance (2.1.1 tested) for my purposes (flying, driving).. Couldn't we just at least steer him in the right direction? heh... anyways, I'm still a n00b too lol
It is DeLorme Street Atlas (Plus 2006 in this case) which is wonderful software, unless of course you are trying to drive or use a screen less than 15 inches wide. it's kind of like mounting an F-15 cockpit your car. And the best part is. It doesn't like Dragon NaturallySpeaking all.
Well I won't bother asking which is best. As in Front-ends, it all comes down to preference and needs. I'm just gonna "try" them. Then make my final decision.
I have Street Atlas. I really like it EXCEPT for the teeny tiny buttons. It is a pain to use in the car -particularly to set the destination int, unless you use a mouse.Originally Posted by smkaplan

Last time i checked this was a website built to help new people at this carputer thing...and when someone asks a question most the answers given involve that smiley that is holding the search sign. It would take less time for people that have been here a while to just answer the question instead of being a jackass telling everyone to search. There is so many threads on this forum it isn't even funny, you try to search for something and it takes you 3 days to read through everything, if you are about this searching thing why dont you search for the n00b and just give them the link (like I see some people doing) THAT is called helping, telling people to search is just showing that you may not know jack**** about this hobbie, and just telling them to search would be ok, but harassing a person for asking a question is a crock-of-****. I have decided that this is my last post i will make on this website, I will start the SEARCH for a new forum that has more helpful people then this place
whoa whoa whoa now, I gotta say.. When I first asked questions here, I looked it up first (took probably two days to read the stuff interesting to me) to make sure I didn't look foolish! But come on, these people are helpful all the time.. I don't see why you feel the need to find another forum? In all fairness, it was kinda a question that showed he didn't even have the time to look it up for three seconds(being his ver first post), why should everyone else take time to research it/answer it? Well, because he is a beginner and doesn't know.. BUT! If you're a beginner, at least start to look into what you're posting about! But aside from that, I still say go with MS Streets and Trips 2006 if it's a laptop, but if it's a built in screen in your dash go with iGuidance. iGuidance seems to be geared more for smaller resolution screens, and I don't think MS Streets and Trips would work well (if at all) at a very small resolution.. Hope this could help. this shows a couple pics of both MS S&T and iGuidance
heh, this is like my 5th post
