I'm having problems with XPORT and standby/hibernation. The program works great for the most part; reconnects to the port, etc..; cept it crashes on resume like 95% of the time. I know it's meant for USB comports, but I'm using it on a bluetooth dongle with widcomm 1.4.2. I just don't understand why it crashes on resume. So any help to fix or to go about diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and excellent program btw.

ps. I'm running RR, iGuidance, DLink BT w/widcomm 1.4.2

NOTHING to do with this thread. Dont thread-jack. ANd if port 9 is the correct port and there's data was coming from the gps you'd see a green dot by com9 and the NMEA data streaming at the bottom of the box. You need to test your gps without xport. Once ur sure its working properly then add xport back in.

Well, the thread title is "Xport 3 problems" so I thought I'd report the problem in here also. Anyhow, my apologies...

Well, that's exactly OT. I don't know what would be wrong with it though. Bluetooth should work, but XPort probably gets impatient with it since it takes a few seconds to connect. Do you know how long it usually takes? Like 5 or 10 seconds? And as far as crashing, can you give me an error code or anything?

I have been using XPort3 for 2 weeks now. Great program.
Using it with my USB BR355 to help it out of hibernation.

One thing though, since it enables us to use more than one GPS app, I decided to try to play with my spare GPS Rx I have lying around.

I got some VB6 code to work with it, then I tried VS2005 using the .NET v2.0 Framework that has a new SerialPort Class.

When I run the .NET serial port program with XPort3 and the .NET program uses the new SerialPort class it doesn't work. I then shutdown XPort3 and it works off the normal com port.

If I use MSCOMM from VB6 in my .NET app, then it works fine by not using the new Serial Port class, but the old way...

Weird. Also how hard would it be to add a Line to the GPS sentences. Cause some proprietary GPS send out sentences, and I wanna have my Old Co-Pilot 2003 work with my new BR355, but I noticed it's not spitting out this extra line that my other GPS does.

If you want to send me an app that uses the new serial port class, I'd be happy to take a look at what it's doing (or not doing). I could probably add some code for compatibility. Not sure about adding a fake sentence though.

What exception is being thrown when you try connecting using VB.net?
