Have you got any further with this?
I hope so!
I've got a pocketpc version working with an emulator on the carputter, but it eats a lot or processing juice, which I would rather use for other stuff.
Im' currently trying to get it going with a palm emulator as they are less hungry.

hey, I haven't got round to trying it (contrary to my promise) as I'm waiting to get my TomTom CD back from my brother.
I've also been playing with iGUidance, which isn't too bad but doesn't compare.
will let u know.

It doesn't look as flashly but it has newer, better maps and the maps are more accurate. And it gets you going to where you need to go on a much more straightforward and logical route than tomtom.Originally Posted by sama

tomtom in the uk has pretty good maps, it also has a traffic service which when subscribed to, it reroutes based on traffic reports. it's saved my neck many times.
atop that, tomtom has some very decent camera detection plugins that use your vector + an angle to alert you of cameras more intelligently than other software. it also has full postcode lookup, and it's touch screen friendly out the box - without your plugin that is![]()

I hear tomtom europe is a real winner. I use it on my pda in america and its nothing special, but the interface is really clean, i agree

For the UK, I tried many different PDA based options, and ended up with TomTom because of it's POI's, and reasonable maps.Originally Posted by PURDooM
the latest maps from Tom Tom still get the A34/M4 junction wrong - and it's been open for almost a year now :/
Oh - and yes, i'm another traffic subscriber. No idea how we could get that working via a palm simulator!
If i could get a monthly map update from TomTom i'd be in heaven!
Anybody feel like asking tomtom to release a version for Windows?

networking thru the palm emulator is easy. we setup forwarding thru the host and the emulator will have net access. tomtom will just query the os for a network connection and should work. that's the theory!
as for tomtom pc version, I believe it's been asked before. but I guess there's little harm in trying. i'n not sure what the sdk can provide, perhaps it already had a win32 version that can be used for testing... I can only speculate without the sdk to hand.
sit tight, will have an answer soon!

Out of so many SW I have tried, about 5 or 6. Navigon 5 is probably the only one close to tomtom that I think its useable.
