Read that, just seems like a defective device.

My 213 runs great as I mentioned in that thread. Got it for $59 shipped on eBay... damn good deal.

Yeah I bought the same GPS reciever on eBay about a week ago and it works great. I get 8-9 sats outside and I get 5-7 sats inside my house! It actually tracked me moving on the upper level of the house. I tested it and I got 2 MPH when I was walking down the hall and 6 MPH when I ran.

This is my first GPS reciever ever and I couldn't be happier with it.

Ditto. I was sitting at my desk some 8 feet away from the window and got 6 sats. When I went driving around it didn't flinch for a second and locked onto around 8. At it's peak it locked at 10.

I got one.. I'm having a problem where it takes a long time(5-15 min) to lock on the first time I use it each day.. I'm not sure if the battery in it is loosing power as I leave it plugged into a turned off computer all night or if its loosing some info because its in a garage and can't get a lock..?? I'm using S&T 06 on a Windows XP system..

Anyone else having a similar problem?

    Thanks,
    -Matt

ive got one of these as well and its great. locks FAST and stays connected..

make sure you are not running it off a low power USB port or an unpowered hub.

also check that windows hasnt "found" a new mouse, there is a glitch in windows XP where it will find a mouse as well as the gps device, just disable it in device manager, this also causes random jumping of the mouse pointer too.

I ended up using GPSgate to split the gps ports and enable me to emulate a garmin device, so i can use the free open source maps
