Marvin, in big cities like NY, DC (where I live), a lot of streets start with numbers.

Which brings me to another IG annoyance. When entering an address, it doesn't know the difference between 6th Street NW and 6th Street SW. I got routed to the wrong location twice because of this.

The thing is, when you actually get there, it does show the correct street name on the bottom (ie. 6th NW or 6th Street SW). so obviously, IG does have both in the DB. This drives me nuts sometimes.

Right now, whenever I have to find a place in DC, I'll map it on Yahoos, copy the lat and lon onto my USB stick and route by coord. in IG.

Numbers are accessible, but it requires an extra tap on the screen. But I got your point. I guess then it would have been better to just keep the old style OSK for PC versions. They could have just made the OSK full screen to maximize available space for as large buttons as possible.

The second issue I have not experienced and I wish I could test it for you, but at the moment I only have new map data for my province.

Ya, that OSK really sucks. I live in an area where everything is built in a block system so there are hardly any streets with street names. Almost everything uses numbers!

    starts shipping the 21st, supposedly.

there's also some info on the upgrade costs for those of you who already have it, looks like $79.
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:
