I use Cingular for my service but it is not free. There are several plans from pay per use up to 20mb a month for about $40.00. I suggest using bluetooth though as the cables can be a pain. 115k is the speed by the way. Ok for email and weather in roadrunner but a bit slow for all out surfing.

I use a bluetooth connection to my Treo650 and the speed is acceptable. It's not super-fast by any means.
I had three downloads going at once and each download was pulling in as fast as a top-notch dialup connection. For in-car use, that's more than sufficient, IMHO.

But no, it's not free. I have two unlimited data plans: one for my Treo and another for my girlfriends' Blackberry. I don't care, as my boss pays for it.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

If you question our experiences, why don't you talk to your local Cingular rep? Why don't you check on forums that are devoted to cellphones like howardforums?
I pay $40/month for the unlimited data paln on my Treo650. That's the standard rate for a data plan for a PDA like mine. I have full 'net access and can use any internet app I want (except for MSN messenger for whatever reason....) on my truckPC when it's connected via bluetooth to my Treo and the 'net. If I had a Slingbox, I'm pretty certain I could access it with no problem.

The Razor may be able to use MediaNet (Cingular's proprietary system), but I don't know if you'd have full-on 'net access using MediaNet. Again, you'd have better luck talking to your Cingular rep or perusing the information at howardforums.

Via Cingular, the gprs access is not free, no matter how you are accessing the web... (whether via the V3 with bluetooth, usb cable or via an gprs/edge card) If you are accessing the internet via the V3, I have seen people use the unlimited media net (24.99, last I checked), but some people have also seen high bills depending on the access number and user/pass you use for your dial in connection (on the pc)
    ---
If you want to avoid the possibility of a high bill, there is an unlimited internet tethering option for $60, I believe.... (I haven't checked costs in a while)
    ---

But nothing in cingular is free!
