And you think a software program does this on its own? Either it works or it does'nt work. You probably have a problem with you receiver.
On a car trip today iG3 would turn on and I could see that the GPS receiver was picking up satellites, but when you went to the GPS info box it showed 0/0 satellites, but the 0/0 was green meaning it was reading the GPS receiver fine. But while driving, you could see that the speed was being acurately mesured which means it must have had a lock on at least 3 satellites. My position on the map would never get a fix until about 30-60 minutes into the drive it would suddenly see 12 satellites and lock on to 6. If you turn the computer off for a while and then back on, the problem starts all over again, it's like iGuidance was on a timer to not allow any information besides speed to be displayed. The whole system worked fine last week, now this week it's doing this.

could be. But it's obviously receiving the signal in the gps unit itself. It's tracking at least 3 (iguidance doesn't show it however) satellites as the speed in IG updates and is acurate. It was most odd, it wasn't working at all, then right at 5PM today it instantly saw 12 and locked on to 6....like it had that all the time but the software just wouldn't display it.
i had the exact prob couple of days ago. I uninstalled ig3, reinstalled it. Now works fine. Try it.

OK, I'll try that if nothing else works out. It takes an hour to install iG3 on my slow computerOriginally Posted by john1701

I've narrowed the problem down to something involving resuming from hibernation. If I turn the computer on and it boots up from hibernation and iG3 was the last program open (aka, the program that the computer boots back into when it resumes) the program wont work with satellites for a certain amount of time. However, if i shut the computer all the way down, and boot it all the way from fresh and go into iG3, it apprears to find the satellites normally. Could this be a new iG3 bug?
dont think it has anything to do with hibernation, least not for me. I see this also but nothing close to 30-60 min, more like 10 min. Sometimes it tracks right away and other times it takes like 10min. Havent figured it out yet and there definately isnt anything wrong with my reciever. IG2 and any other gps app i have still work fine and get 3D locks instantly.

on a freash boot IG3 will lock on as soon as its opened, but if i close it down and restart it, it wont relock for like 10min give or take 5min.
