performance wise, I guess they are about the same. I recieve more sats with this set-up...partially due to the antenna on the roof instead of inside the car I'm sure.

Overall, i'm very happy with it. It's a solid, well integrated solution, which is what I was after. I know that some folks are ok with having a USB reciever somewhere in their car where you can see it (on the dash, on the read deck lid, etc), but I'm not.

If you're looking for a well integrated solution, this is the way to go, if you're looking to spend as litle as possible and are ok with mounting a USB reciever where it's useable, go that route.

Thanks Red. What made you choose to mount the antenna on the roof (larger) vs. the bu-353 on the roof (smaller, cheaper than board+antenna) which would still result in a very stealth install? I suppose using the other antenna connections would be a reason, outside of that I wonder?

The antenna replaced my stock antenna.

It will also extend the WiFi range (when I hook it up) and can be used as a cellular antenna.

Red what antenna adapter did you use to connect the two? They are different right?

I don't remember the kinds off the top of my head, but if you look at the specs for the board and the specs for the antenna it should tell you the connection types. Just type that into google and it will return the proper type of connector.

Ok, thanks. I did a quick glance at the board and did not see it, I will look harder.
