I second that - bluetooth was nothing but trouble (not specific to gps - anything to do with bt was trouble) - picked up usb device (bu353), then purchased gpsgate, now GPS is aces.
I was tired in connecting my blutooth bt338 GPS. This unit was working fine but the connection with usb blutooth receiver + bluesoleil was crap. Sometimes the bluetooth was not recognized, it was sometimes required to reconnect using the bluesoleil ugly interface.
I have changed to a wired Navilock NL-302U (I think that one globalsat model is similar, navilock is distributed in europe. The unit is plugged directly on a usb port and not on an HUB. Now everything is working well. When the pc resumes or start the unit is always up, I had 0 problem or need to reconnect it.
This solution is ideal for carPC. So my advice is: avoid bluetooth for GPS if possible!
