There is a new blog (all about Streets & Trips) at
I see there now a little bit of insider info, some screenshots, some more info about the new 2007 version and new Bluetooth accessory, etc.

    heck no!

I need that planning functionality in there.

For what I use navigation for not only in the car but also when planning a trip on the bike I need that functionality. A lot of people need that functionality outside of the CarPC world!

    Cool

After 2 days its starting to grow on me...but the interface is mostly not good on a small screen though the fullscreen feature is wonderful u still have to play with the little buttons b4 the getting the route planned out but overall it works as stated. Still getting used to the features and what each button in the toolbar does. Some of the window options in the route planner is hidden below the screen even with the program maximized :-(

    Keep you guys posted...!

This above picture depicts how I wish Streets & Trips 2008 would look like next year A few more GPS related features should be accessible from the new full screen mode. Users should be able to have the option to start S&T with full-screen mode enabled (with GPS functions turned on). Most of us most of the time don't need to use most of the advanced planning features of S&T, but we just want to enter a destination and drive. S&T should allow for this from the full screen mode (without having to switch to the "planning mode").

I don't understand why you all want and expect Microsoft to completely change the functionality of their software to meet the needs of a very niche market?

They don't make their living selling to the CarPC market. In fact, I bet they loose money with all the people that illegally download the software..

Instead of expecting them to completely change the functionality to meet the needs of about .5% of their market, why not ask them to design a seperate piece of software?

Think about what S&T is designed for. People who are planning a trip. Businesses and traveling sales personnel. It's designed to be a more in depth application that will enable users to design trips and set out more efficient routes.

RedGTiVR6, I suspect you haven't yet bought the new 2007 version, or at least you haven't tried the new full-screen navigation mode. I don't think any of us is suggesting big changes to the application.

The new full screen mode makes Streets & Trips 2007 usable on a small size screen. It has a few large size buttons there to accommodate touch screen users. All that we really want is to add a couple of more buttons to the new autohiding toolbar so a few more functions can be easily accessed (such as enter destination) without exiting the full screen mode.

When a user exits the full-screen navigation mode, the application is no longer small screen / touch screen friendly. Because of that I think it would improve user experience if there was a user selectable option to start the program in the new full-screen navigation mode (with GPS functions turned on).

So far so good I just dislike switching views, and my screen resolution cuts off the bottom section of the route planning window where recalculate button is so I have to hit F3 on my mini keyboard to calculate directions from my current gps location but its been very handy on my past trip this weekend. what skin can I use that integrates s&t 07
