I am wanting to develop my own frontend... but GPS software seems to be the sticking point for me (as we Aussie's) only seem to have destinator based options, and Destinator is being stubborn and won't release the SDK for D6...
Is there any other options? I had thought is there anyway to download the Australian maps from Google Maps and use it with routing?
There is no aussie maps for iGuidance (which seems to be quite popular on here) is there?
Tom tom may be another option. They have AUS maps, but I am not sure if they do a PC or a PDA version any more.
no pc version and the emulator for tom tom is too much hard work. destinator 6 is so far our only good option, maps are q4 2006 so its ok. Theres more info in the digital car uk forums
Anyone got some good results for us downunder?
There are q4 2006 maps?

iGO8 for PC springs to mind
You may look into Odyssey Navigator. It has very good map data (Navteq), it is touch-screen friendly, and it seems to have some following in Australia (it originates in Australia).

I have found
- CoPilot 11 but the reviews are not glowing
- Oddessy looks ok and has 2009H2 Navteq maps
I am also interested to use this for 4WD and though I understand there will be no voice turn-by-turn navigation for bush tracks, being able to see and track along mapped tracks would be an advantage.
The version 11 of ALK Copilot was, as far as I know, released only with USA/Canada maps. If you can still find CoPilot in Australia, it likely is an older version.
