Com Port Issues--Garmin GPS10 Deluxe

Hey guys, I'm a bit new to working with GPS, this being my first one. My computer knowledge is above average but not exactly that high.

Anyways, I recently purchased this Garmin GPS 10 Deluxe and have been having some issues getting it up and running.

To recap what I've done already:

1. Installed all software, including nRoute
2. Enabled bluetooth on my computer
3. Setup unused comm ports
4. Opened sensor config. wizard and set it to one of the unused comm ports and baud rate to 4800 (as instructed on garmin's website)

With all of these done I still can't get the computer to connect to the gps 10 receiver, and I am lost on other ideas to try. All help would be greatly appreciated as I have two huge trips I'm taking next week and this would be a life saver on both of them.

You need to pair the device with your computer.

sorry to sound stupid, but how do i do that? i've never actually used a bluetooth device with this computer before. i remember reading something in my searches about pairing but i also remember it not going into detail about how to do that.
