Rikaline GPS Intermittent Signal and Issues

Hey all. I'm running IGuidance right now but am having serious issues with my Rikaline GPS going in and out.

Here are some of the symptoms. I'm not sure if its just the USB GPS or IGuidance which is causing the issue. I run IG embedded into Frodoplayer. I've had this same setup in 2 systems so I'm pretty sure its not the USB on my mobo.

I'll try and access IGuidance embedded and the GPS just won't connect however its very spotty about when it works and doesn't. Once it is connected however it does seem to work OK and I don't really lose the connect. The problem is just getting the initial connect. I've tried to move around the GPS but I don't think thats the issue as when it is connected its okay. Is this a common issue and should I update my driver?

I do have IGuidance 3.0 and am thinking about installing it anyday now and will report my findings after that but its just so unreliable I can never use NAV when I want to.

Are there any newer better connecting GPS units out there as wel aside from Rikaline? The unit is around 1.5 years old.

oh yeah, it should be noted I dont think its Frodo because even loading it up standalone it does the same thing. Also as mentioned, I've had the same equipment in 2 different systems and the same behaviour so don't think its my hardware unless its somehow IG or the Rikaline GPS. Maybe someone can point me to an updated driver or a new GPS. I just don't think its my location because it does work sometimes but kind of hard to connect.

OK so I installed in part of a new system last night and I got the 6010 Rikaline drivers off the website for WIndows. I'm assuming these are the latest being off the site!! I then install IGuidance 3.0 and Frodoplayer. If I go to 'Auto Detect' on in IGuidance it seems that I have the GPS in COM3 which is correct but it just won't get any signal. I went out last night to eat and the whole way theere it didnt detect a signal. On my way back I trired the Auto Detect again and it detected COM3 once again but then it connected on the highway. It's really weird that it sometimes work after I try and detect it? On top of that it's really sensitive to the point where the arrow will turn yellow even just driving on the highway so the signal isn't the strong. I've tried to move around the GPS unit but to no avail. It hasn't moved at all and even on the highway it was always green. After all, it is just sitting on my rear deck (I do have tints but thsi was not a factor before).

Can anyone please give me some advice? I'm going to try moving around the GPS receiver once again I guess. Is it better to go to a Serial connection and if so how do I go about doing that? Or is there just a better USB GPS receiver for me? Please help!

Oh yea, after doing some research are the drivers off the site the best ones to use or I also came across some using Prolific drivers? Just a thought. I'm even leaning towards getting a BU-353 now after all this mess with the Rikaline.
