One year newer map data and some UI changes.
Well I got IG2.13NA from a friend who no longer uses it. I also notice there is an IG3 and I'm curious as to what exactly is the difference between the 2? Are the maps better? More updated? More POI's(I've looked around those, it's really not bad at all but it definitely could be better- for instance I can't make it list any franchise resuarants like chillies, fridays, friendlys, apple bee's etc. and can't display other things among that either like normal dinners, it constantly wants to know the type of restuarant which I can't put in cause it's just a normal run of the mill dinner). One other thing I also didn't like was it's lack of understanding NJ jug handle system. I'd actually expect that to be concretely put in since it's a major way of how our highways work. Hopefully IG3 has fixed that issue?
I also notice the tracking is pretty slow, about 2-3 seconds slow. I use a BU-353 USB receiver. Is it the software that's slow or the receiver? I don't think the receiver is lacking cause the stand alone GPS test software it came with is extremely accurate and responsive as far as my speed and direction. Reguardless to what's at fualt, what could I do to increase response time and make this thing calculate faster? I also doubt it's the computer, not to completely rule it out but I feel the comp's not the priority in calculations as much as the reciever or software.
One year newer map data and some UI changes.
Actually there are many greater features then just newer maps and ui changes. The folks at iGuidance have finally listened to every suggestion from the mobile navigation comunity and come up with an ultra mobile pc version of their software. All of the menus and dialogs have been totally redone to be perfectly finger/touch screen friendly. They have improved the overall functionality of it and also added a feature that when you hit the right or left arrows on the keyboard it toggles between screens like gps info, weather, coordinates, etc.

yeah like Reddeath said, I love the UMPC version of iG 3... I got my 2.3v from Ebay and THNAKFULLY they were an authorized dealer so I got my V3 upgrade for free
you should look into it.. it's really nice
The UMPC is MUCH better for our use than the PDA or Laptop version, so if you love the earlier version, you would absolutely adore 3.0. I'd be using it now if I didn't figure out how to get the new Centrafuse Destinator to work with old maps. The one thing I like more about iGuidance is the 3D view, but I feel like sticking with Destinator until CF has the 3D![]()
