can anyone help me with my project, basically i have to track an rc plane, but i dont want the module to continuosly give me the coordinates, i want to interupt it when i want its position.
the whole project will consist of the UBLOX module, an sms decoder/trigger circuit (using a microchip PIC) and a gsm/gprs module. when i send an sms to the gsm/gprs module, depending on the sms received, the decoder/trigger will interupt the UBLOX module, causing the UBLOX module to send its coordinates to the gsm/gprs module once, and the decoder/trigger will continue to interupt the UBLOX periodically, until an sms is sent to the decoder telling it to stop the interupts, therefore no more coordinates.
so i just need help with configuring the UBLOX for a one shot interupt, meaning that a cordinate is only given when the module is interupted.
here is the picture of the UBLOX module
and this is how the final project will be made
some documentation of the module

IM AT YOUR MERCY
I have thought about it, PROBLEM, the power consumption would never lessen as the system would always be on.
so if i interupt the system, then, i can allow the pic and the gps module to be on sleep, until the pic receives an interupt from the gsm module and hence also interupting the gps, and consiquently giving me a position
after a couple of seconds, they would again go back to sleep mode.
