erkme73, did you hear anything back from DOD about the speed delay? Will they issue a new firmware?

This was after leaving work. A dumb hummer couldnt get through the garage. Wasnt very happy. I had to lower the quality of the video in order to avoid the long processing time.

Can I have those 7 mins of my life back.

That was one of the most boring videos I have watched.

Takes you almost as long to get out of your work parking garage as it does for me to get home form work.

As said looks good quality recording, although would have liked to see it at speed, not 2mph.

It was designed before the SUV era. The mall was closed down for a long time (8 years), then they decided to rerenovate it, but didnt do a d@mn thing about the parking. The mall is at the bottom and the parking is at the top. Before, when you got to the area with the spiral, it use to be straight. But people with $h!++y cars couldnt make it up the climb, so they changed it.

Yea I used CyberLink Powerdirector 8. Its the only one that could see the video. All the other editors would show only a black screen. I used the PSP movie setting, which was about 40MB. I tired to do it to its full quality, but the video was hitting 2GB!!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt say it was an action packed movie with high speed chases. If that hummer wouldnt have been there I would have been racing out of that lot, lol.

Next time i'll post one when Im speeding on the Express Lane, lol. Now that I know what software I can use to combine the 1 minute clips flawlessly, I can pump out videos faster.

OK, I bought the camera that connects to the DVR unit. I then cut up the cable and wired my DQP to it. The video and power share the same ground point and thats what the DVR looks for to enable the second recording. So all I had to do was wire in video.

Here it is me driving to get food. The second camera recording isn't high quality like the main unit, but you can still clearly see everything. Only draw back I see is that frame rate goes from 30 fps to 15 fps so it can record both video streams. Its a small issue, but nothing that takes away from its abilities.

I most def recommend this unit to anyone. Since I have already hacked up a camera, anyone that wants to hook up their own second camera doesn't have to buy the 100 dollar one. I can simply tell you the pins that send out video and ground on the headphone style plug.

Why is the video so jerky? Is it because of 15FPS or did YouTube do some further compression causing this weird rubber-band effect? Is the motion fluid during 30FPS recording?

Could you please post some snapshots of the camera mounts?

It says that in the manual that when the second camera is installed, the frame rate drops to 15 fps. It could also be because I am using that second camera port in a way it simply wasnt meant to be used in. It could also be the software I am using to join the two video feeds together (the unit doesnt do it natively). Basically the camera records two files. One for front (high quality) and one file for back (medium quality). I then use a software to combine the two feeds. I think maybe something is going on there and its causing jerkiness when I merge them. i am going to have to play with the software some more. The motion is flawless at 30 fps, scroll up and watch the video with no second camera. I put my money on the software not being able to handle two streams though. When I get home I am going to see if the video from cam one is jerky, then i'll post the results. i will also post rear camera footage by itself also.
