I use the ET301 with the roof mount antenna that's sold here on the store.

Works very well, all of the time in StreetDeck as well as with iGuidance.

Is it this model antenna that you use:

Does this antenna connect directly to the antenna outlet on the ET301 or is there an converter cable that is required? Thanks.

No, if they were noone would get the mouse types lol..
Its probably 'cos the antennas can be mounted separate from the unit and therefore be installed in the best area.

Most OEMs are not that sensitive, as well as expensive and hard to find a decent one.

Get a USB SIRF3 GPS with ext ant connection off ebay, stick an active ant and you are done. Its much cheaper and better than the hyped up outdated OEM modules poeple are on about.

Anyone name me or link me a decent OEM module for a good price, I bet no one dare

Honestly if reception is the issue then you might wanna consider GPS with DR. As been said before, its not really the OEM style that make it more sensitive, its the chipset and the antenna that matters. If you already have a SIRF3 chipset, then just add and active ant and yours will be as good as the so called OEM or even better, + it comes in a box

Who has done it? I've seen some forums on it but I havent really seen an easy solution out there... What I've seen requires a lot of time, and knowledge.

Notice just the receiver. No USB controller, no enclosure, no antenna.

What you posted is just a regular gps puck. Yes it will work, but not the entire point of this thread.

How did you have the GPS mounted? I know my Hollux got crappy reception some times, then I realized I didnt have it mounted on a good ground plane. I stuck it to a section of steel and everything started working perfectly... I don't see how an OEM would do any better unless you are adding external Active antennas etc... which you can do w/ some cheapo's anyway.
