    grayed out satellites

All of the satellites my GPS is hooking up to seem to be grayed out. I can't get a signal from any satellite. I do get a time signal, but I can't get a location signal.

I am using Iguidance 2.1.3 and running a Holux GR213 reciever on Com3 at 4600 baud. OS is Windows XP, all proper drivers are installed. I even tried reinstalling them! Reinstalled Iguidance.

Any suggestions? As a side note I also noticed that in the past the light on the GPS reciever used to blink, and now it just stays solid orange.

    Where is your receiver located?

whether its roof mounted, or mounted internally on top of my scooby's dash(right dead center between the two heating vents) same results. It worked for a period of time...and then it just stopped I dunno why...

Are you able to see what data is actually being passed through the COM port? If you see NEMA stuff, then the GPS is fine and the problem is software. If you don't then most likely hardware.

I see some stuff being passed...it is able to collect the "exact" time...however then it is UNABLE to get any location information.

    It's a GR213 thing...
Basically it has something to do with the internal locking battery/chip combo.
Find the configuration software on the Holux Website and see if it works 2 mins after doing a Cold Start.
    It should...

    The Software.

It's called GPSViewer. Try it out in your car, it's gonna have the three Start options.
For Sale: Carputer (CarPC) & RCA Y-Adapter
Newsflash: Take a look at my unsold stuff above, thanks!
Up Next: Make an OBD to Serial cable & Redo the "MMI buttons"
