I spent a year in Miami. I am not sure if Iguidance is the same as Destinator, but with Desinator if it was SW 283rd st, you wouldn't type SW first, you would type 283rd, and then select either NW 283rd or SW 283rd on the screen.
I'm not very happy with the way it's setup because in miami, we dont' have street names...they are numbers, and it's very difficult to put an adress in...Am I doing something wrong, or is it just like that?

Woo, that's interesting.. I just google mapped Miami and was totally amazed by all those numberd streets..LOL
It aint any worse than NYC. For instance, Queens is notorious for having numbers intersecting numbers, and for similar street names.(Ask any New Yorker NOT familiar with Queens how confusing it can be)
So, for example, 30th ave, road, and drive can each cross 30th street, place loop, and circle.
As for the OP, just put the actual street number, 248, and it should give you the option for the other descriptors, like direction and ave, road etc...
