Hey, I just noticed that I forgot to rename the .exe and that is why it isn't starting up with Windows. So just download the new version or rename your .exe to GPSSecure.exe. The new version should start in the systray without a problem now.

Hey guys,
Here's another issue I'm facing. I am using a Delorme Earthmate (USB version) with the USB to serial converter driver. When I start GPS Secure it logs live for the first minute. I set up the program to record the position after each minute. After that minute, it says that the position was logged, then the live stats stick at what it was at the time it recorded.
The software doesn't crash, and it still shows I'm fixed on satellites, it just stops logging live. After that first record, it doesn't record any more unless I restart the program.
Also, it seems if I click 'disconnect' within the program, it doesn't release the COM port that the GPS is feeding through. I have to reboot the machine and then start up the program again.

I was wondering if anyone else is using this with the Delorme Earthmate like I am to determine if that's the problem, or if it's the program itself causing the problem.

As far as I know, I'm not losing fix on the satellites, because I can open iGuidance to check for a lock, and I get it.

Any ideas?

A few things:
Techy101, are you using the direct connect to the GPS, or MapMonkey to connect? You seem to always have good data and it is definitely updating your information even after the first log.
SyperBob, I know of one other person that had a problem with an Earthmate receiver because their stupid drivers didn't specify a maximum baud rate and it would cause the program to crash. I fixed that, but who knows what else I might need to fix with the receiver. I'll find out if they are having a problem with it disconnecting.
BugByte - I want to apologize because I lost all of your data for today. It came into the server just fine but then I got an error (that I rarely get, a bug that I have been trying to track down). I was going into debug mode to see if I could find out where the bug is at from your data and accidently closed the server app and lost all 122 entries that you submitted. I promise though, the next time I get the error I got today with your log, I'll copy the information and manually input it so I can definitely track down the bug and kill it! Sorry, again. I need another big log from someone because I think that is where it causes an error in the proccessing.
Sorry, I have a really busy week this week and so I know there are a ton of things that still need to be fixed and I won't be able to get to them till next week (unless it is that server bug).

I have been using both back and fourth. Depends on what I'm doing. I've been using MM for long drives like out to Daytona where I want to have my GPS up, but when I'm just driving around I have been setting it to use the GPS. It seems to be working fine now, with the startup and minimizing

Good news. It must just be the Earthmate that is acting differantly then.

Will this only work with your webserverm, or can we configure it to upload the file to our own servers? If its only for your server, are you planning on selling the use of your server for people to track their vehicle on?

Only works on my web server right now. I really haven't made any plans to sell the use of my server software, but maybe if you want to pay me you can Haven't really thought about charging for it.
