I think it's generally a better idea to bring power to the computer in the car. In my experience Windows freaks out and get unstable when you unplug everything (GPS, Bluetooth, wifi, serial stuff) and run a windows update or any other update. So I just switch out the 12V to the DSATX and plugin a modded ATX PSU instead.
