Sounds like a great idea. I would like to help code and test if you are looking for a partner.
Also, might I suggest the A7 Bluetooth to RS232 module. Cheaper. Good support.

Hi all, I'm a long time troll, but just recently joined these forums due to my renewed interest in controlling my XM Direct unit via alternative interfaces.
I have started developing an application for controlling the XM direct unit over bluetooth from my windows mobile 6 phone (htc herald). Things are pretty straight forward, you use the same commands you would with a normal serial interface, you just have to be sure to have a bluetooth outgoing com port open. As of right now I am using my PC as a relay with a bluetooth dongle installed (the code for this is also located at the link below), though shortly I should have my rs232 -> BT adapter built for the XM direct. Not sure if anyone would be interested, but feel free to take a look at the dev source @ http://www.johnquinceyadams.com/.

One of the best way to learn is making mistakes, But much better when you learn from someone else mistakes
Are there any homebrew solutions using the newer XM mini tuner as opposed to the serial cable + XM direct solution?

Thanks for the responses, and I'm looking into that bluetooth dongle (thanks)...
Anyone can feel free to work on this with me, I havent had a lot of time to dedicate to it this week (been working on a sql2005 migration at work)... I don't know about the mini xm tuner, probably work work... I'll look into that as well... feel free to email me with any suggestions/etc... I'll supply precompiled binaries as well on the site for those of you without vs2k5...
