    TrafficBox FM9

    Hi,

currently the GNS TrafficeBox FM9 for FujitsuSiemens Loox n100 is special offered from GNS-GMBH, see http://www.gns-gmbh.com/shop/xtc/pro...6c89f9f05cff53.

The site says this TrafficBox will only work with that PDA. Ok, the connector is for that PDA. But does anyone know if it is a standard(as used on the pc) serial signal? Thus when putting another connector on it, it would work just like a normal serial TMC reciever for the PC?

I dont know about that one seems like an odd connector, but if you can work out which pins are which you could get it to work.

But I purchased this one cheaply http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110349996393 and when it arrives I will try and see if I can get it to work via USB.

Ok opening the unit up there is a phillips microcontroller which is what interfaces with the PDA. Connecting this to a TTL<->RS232 converter chip (such as the maxim 3232) and then to a com port allows hyperterminal to show the output from the device.
