I think he's working on a timer that will turn off after 30 mins or an hour or so. Not sure the exact details but he did say he would try to get that worked in.

    I don't understand...what is a washboard??
And watching that video, it looks like a very abrupt power off! Is it killing the power to the PC/Monitor, or initiating a shut down sequence?

I've done a remote on already with my Viper alarm, a relay and a diode...simple as ****...triggers the ACC on the OPUS for on AND off...

slight change of topic here, but for those that have remote start on their vehicles, where do you get the signal from the remote start to turn on your PC?

I tested mine, and the remote start does not trigger my ACC/IGN wire on my radio harness, so I can't start my PC with remote start. What are you tapping into to turn on your carpc w/ remote start?

Did you just shorten my username or do you actually know my last name? Anyway, I don't know what you mean by latch. Clarify that and I'll see if I can get an answer for you.

Any proper power supply like the M2-ATX will shut itself down when the battery reaches a certain level.

You don't use the remote start, you use an AUX function. I've got a Compustar 2 way pager remote with a few auxiliary functions that I can hook up to my windows, sunroof, whatever I want. So I run a wire from the AUX1 port on the alarm unit in the car to the PWR pins on the motherboard or PSU. When I hit AUX1 on my fob, it sends a few milliamps which will tell the computer to turn on while the car is still off. Then I hit it again and it tells everything to shut down. I can even connect to it via SSH or remote into it with NXClient (www.nomachine.com) which is free. I use NXClient at home to remote into my media center and manage the music that's playing from anywhere in the house via my laptop.
