Just as the title asks, would you prefer connectors coming out the side or the top of a circuit board? Assume there is no enclosure right now. Straight up connectors would make every wire come out the top of the board, making it a bit easier to mount. Side connectors would have wires coming out in 4 directions, making it slimmer and prettier, but harder to mount.

i voted for straight connectors, as long as there is no enclousure-- if you choose to make a enclousure, i'd vote for the right angle.

Any particular reason? I'm looking at enclosures right now, but they would have to be optional.
it might be wrong, but that is just how i have come to expect circuit boards to come--- bare boards usually have straight connections, and boards in enclosures usually have the connectors on the side, and most enclosures that have the connectors either on the top or bottom usually end up looking odd.

Well, that post is really irrelevant, but it relates to a product I'm in the process of making. I'm not proficient in this kinda stuff so I'm getting community opinions to make sure it works out to be what people want.Quote:

I would recomend stright up connectors.. that way you can collect all wires in one big cable harness going to the card. Though.. proper marking in both ends would be good :)
