im looking for a way to charge my Ipod Touch 2nd gen in my 2002 VW GTI, and from what i can tell, i was either gonna wire in a generic usb - to - car adapter charger thingy(idunnoz), or use a Voltage regulator LM7805 to wire it all up. Halp?

There are USB adapters for the car cigarette lighter. You can disassemble that to reduce teh bulk, leaving just a USB port.
Plug in your iPod and charge away.

If you're crafty, fabricate a dock for the iPod.

yah, im broke as HELL, liek (going back to college broke), im gonna fashion a charger out of an ipod cable and a old phone charger (with a 5v output).

yah, l8r i will prob integrate a dock into my ashtray with some bondo, (saw it earlier in the SOYP with an MKIV gti) will post how it turns out.
