Thread: FM/DAB digital radio - THAT WORKS!!

How about a LED and resistor from the USB SKT +5v line?

Need some help – I have a V7 module from Graig. I modified the rear glass aerial to bypass the FM Amp module and fitted a small matching device to get it resonant at DAB frequencies. I modified my software so that a different Aerial or input is automatically selected when switching between DAB and FM. However the In-Glass aerial is still poor, mainly because it’s horizontally polarised and partly hidden by the roof.

I have been trying to get a good DAB aerial over here in AU but have run into a brick wall.

The Aerial I was looking at is something like a Kinetic DRA-1001. http://www.dabonwheels.com/Kinetic_D...ar_aerial.html However the UK sites do not send this aerial to AU, only the crappy magnetic mount, unamplified unit. Anyone know where I can get a Roof-top aerial like this in AU or anyplace in UK than sends to AU.

Thanks for the links; however the Magnetic unit is not going to work in my fringe location.

There is one place in AU that will order the type I am after but at a cost of $215 AU what a %^& rip off.

Have you made sure your FM window aerial does not go through a hidden booster? I bypassed mine but as I said, fringe area and just not good enough. Actually they are marginal on FM to start with, especially as you get away from the city, so I have a dual reason to get a combined base amplified FM-DAB roof mount unit.

not sure if it's going through a booster now as i have removed all of the previous audio gear the car originally was installed with.

Got the file, will test it out and report back

I just got my sony xdrs55 radio and the radio module in it does not have a ID on it (see photos).
The module looks like it's been driven by an MCU so it looks to me that it is a slave unit.
Can someone recognize which Venice version (5, 5.1 ,6) this model is and if it is a slave firmare version?

looks like a venice 5 to me.

Can I plug this on one of Craigs main boards and use it as a slave unit with the venice5 plugin in RoadRunner ?
