Hi, if anyone is interested I made a short Quicktime video of the Radio running in the Car. I used a basic camera in video mode so the quality is not very good. Camera had problems with the light level (Day time) and the screen brightness; colours washed out or dark are caused by the Camera. The screen is actually very bright, rich in colour and razor sharp.
NOTE1: When you see the screens flashing from Radio to GPS to Climate control, this is me pressing the steering wheel mode button. The Steering wheel volume controls a USB controlled volume control and mute at the input of the amplifier in the boot, this is why you see no change on the Radio as the volume is changed. The radio volume is used as a Preset only. The channels changing are of course the channel UP/DN buttons on the steering wheel.

Sorry about the size of 18Mb - thats as small as I could get it with the apps I have at the moment.
If you have a unit on order, we are waiting on more Venice modules arriving near the end of this month.Craigbass, is the new badge of venice 7 already arrived ?? i cant wait to get mine !!

70 pounds for a DAB/FM-unit that does audio through 3,5mm jack? Woah...
Start again from scratch, use the Realtek RTL2832U chipset. It's dirt cheap, does FM, DAB, DAB+ AND DVB-T.

- Porsche 996 (911 from '98 to '05)
- Flush mounted 8" TS in dash with laptop-based carputer, too much to list.
Craig,
Are there any hotkeys within centrafuse associated with changing radio presets forward and back? If so what are they?
Cheers
James

Already tried that chipset and it doesn't work in the Car PC environment well. Also tried 2 other chipsets. NOTHING beats the Frontier Silicon Venice chips. It is why 7 out of 10 DAB radios worldwide use them...use the Realtek RTL2832U chipset
Not currently but this is in the pipeline for a release this month. Are there any hotkeys within centrafuse associated with changing radio presets forward and back? If so what are they?
fyi, RTL2832U is not for automotive use, ie moving vechicle... and would costs thousands, my guess no less than 10k, of $$ to license and devlope on!!!
-Thanks

I still need to trial my RTL2832 based PCI dab+ card in my car computer, I might try and get that installed this weekend, and see how it sounds in a moving vehicle.
I have the API documentation for it as well, and the card only comes in at about AUD$40, which is about 20 quid.
And I believe that Mygica have a USB version of it as well.
My problem is I am not a programmer, so that side of things leaves me stumped.
