Getting on very well with my DAB and using it all the time but there's an annoying bug which you may or may not be aware of.
When starting CF and going into your radio plugin, I find that all of my favourites have disappeared until I restart centrafuse then they all reappear.
Any idea why this is?
A minor niggle/suggestion..... Is there any way of feeding the RDS/DAB text through some kind of fifo buffer to get round frontier character restriction?
The dab text does not display the £ symbol, i get an "A" instead.
Otherwise, all is working very well indeed and will stick to my 3.5mm output version to keep down system overheads.
I am looking at using your DAB/FM usb radio for my carpc project i am working on for my range rover and i was wondering do you have a solution yet for using one aerial for both DAB and FM? If not do you know if it is possible to to use 2 of your devices, on for FM radio and one for DAB on one carpc and be able to control them separately e.g. when selecting the FM radio skin on ride runner it will switch to the device running FM and when selecting the DAB radio skin it will switch to the device running the DAB functions?
Already know about this. Will be fixed in the next build. When starting CF and going into your radio plugin, I find that all of my favourites have disappeared until I restart centrafuse then they all reappear.
Looked into it and it really causes more problems than it is worth so wouldn't look to implement it.A minor niggle/suggestion..... Is there any way of feeding the RDS/DAB text through some kind of fifo buffer to get round frontier character restriction?
It would appear it doesn't like certain characters including other languages. This is already on my list. The dab text does not display the £ symbol, i get an "A" instead.
A replacement was shipped back to you.Craig, what is happening with my radio? I returned it under warranty as you requested late last year and have heard nothing and as yet have had no response to my emails.
Should have a multiplexer board out in ~2 months.I am looking at using your DAB/FM usb radio for my carpc project i am working on for my range rover and i was wondering do you have a solution yet for using one aerial for both DAB and FM
Any update on the update?
Cool, thanks, could you let me know when it was posted as no sign of it as yet.
Howdy all, a bit more feedback from me.
I had a problem were when I plugged my radio into my carnetix hub, it would trip the fuse on the USB port. I think it was related to the power issues mentioned before. So I sent the board back at Craig's request and it got replaced with a new one, of the new design.
Since then I have basically replaced my PC, new motherboard etc etc. So (under W7) when I plug it into the hub now it appears as a "USB Serial converter" or something similar under the USB device section of the device manager. The problem with that is, it's unusable with the plugin.
However, if I plug it straight into the motherboard, it appears as a "USB Serial Port - COM6" (or words to that effect) under the port section of device manager. This works fine with the plugin etc. I tried the max bus power setting, but no dice.
So yeah, it works but I have to do a bit of rewiring to plug it straight into the PC. On the plus side, my gut feel is that the new board has slightly better DAB+ reception with my mast antenna (detailed earlier). No real data to back this up, but on tree lined streets that it would have dropped out on before, it now gets really low error counts (single digits). That said it still drops out on the lee side of Black Mountain where I am, but that has a massive radio tower on it that kills just about everything.
Quick question about the CF skin for the DAB..For some reason when I add this plugin after a while the label changes from Dab Radio to Sony Firmware, now I see the sony label in the language xml in the plugin for the DAB, but not sure why the label changes from Dab Radio to Sony Firmware??
The only real difference is that I am not using the clean skin of CF3.1?
New Car PC Build list in progress
When do you expect the Venice modules to be back in stock? (I tried emailing on Friday but got no response).
