I have one that I never used as I removed that small PCB mounted socket, put the radio PCB in a shielded case, put a larger socket on the case and ran a new coax lead to the PCB.

Just ordered 1 of these units from CB. Wondering if anyone else has put in an order recently? With the lack of communication from CB, I am wondering if I am ever going to receive one. Oh well, paypal gives 45days to lodge complaint if I haven't hear anything

Check the volume level of the module. I set this to 100%

is that in the windows mixer for line in properties?
also, the manual says i can plug directly into the module with speakers... when doing this i still got nothing.. (so that wasn't even going through windows)
Edit: thanks RevheadKev, got it going

Was tinkering over the weekend and discovered that there is a massive ground loop between my antenna & USB. I thought reception was good until I plugged into a floating laptop.

Available from Farnell and RS for a mere 35 :-)

I am using one of these-

Looks to be the same thing.

I use it with my USB sound card. I had grounding issues with both my antenna and also the RCA cables from my amps. This fixed my issues.

These two devices “appear” to be different; the first appears to be a HV isolator for the USB interface, the second by dansblackcat appears to be a true ground isolated interface by virtue of the inbuilt isolating transformer.

That second device could make a big difference to ground coupled noise.

As a note, it would be wise to confirm that the first device uses a similar circuit and does indeed offer full ground isolation, if so then its a good buy.
