It has VB.NET frontend software and source code and looks pretty damn nice

Great find, looks promising. I see that along with a Daughter board only option, they offer information to help you get coding for it.

Anyway what the hell, I ordered one to play with (I’m in AU). I liked the almost instant play of any station on the list and what appears to be fast access to signal strength info.

I’ll be able to compare it with the ULT- DAB-FM module currently in the vehicle. One of them will become the workshop radio.

Re: the Monkeyboard, I've flicked a message to the guys' Ebay (as there was a single listing and one of you larikans snapped it up). I've asked to be notified once there's a few more for sale and suggested a quantity (combined postage) option (just in case). I'll keep the site posted once I get a word back.

Ok, just got a response re: the Monkeyboard - fyi

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for posting up the board on mp3car forum, really appreciated.

The last unit of the board just sold a few hours ago.

New stock will come end of next week. As Australia has the most ridiculous export postage, combine shipping will be an awsome idea.

Will email you once new stocks arrived.

    Cheers
    JP

As a punishment for impulse buying you will have to give us a full review!
Mickz, any chance you can start a new thread for this Radio when you get it? page 166 of this one is probably not the best place!!

I asked MonkeyBoard about buying the module on its own. This would be for those 'rolling their own', for the majority the full development board would be the way to go

    Module only
    1 - 4 pieces AUD 25 each.
    5 - 10 pieces AUD 19 each.

    plus shipping

To me this looks much better than any of the Frontier Silicon solutions. For a start it is supported with documentation.
The hardware is 'Open', the Eagle schematic and board files are available.
The API is available with example source code, in VB.Net but hey at least its there.

It uses serial control as previous solutions, but without the horrible restriction of emulating a 2 by 16 display and keypad.
Data isn't just squirted out, you ask for it. None of that painfully scrolling text. You can tune FM frequencies directly.
    Query signal strength, status etc....etc

Wish this was out a year ago!

I ordered one full board and just the keystone one. I plan to implant it to my stock radio. It's already on its way, I hope it works fine

Hi there, i am knew here and wondering if any of you have experienced a fault im having, if so how did you resolve it.
I have a CB dab unit and was all working great in my previous car, i removed the whole system and it has lay in a box for over a year.
i recently installed the system into my new car and everything is working fine apart from the dab, im using all the same components and i have no dab function, if i test the cb unit with the standalone app i get an error stating "invalid port selection", i have tested it on my laptop with the same error. I have increased the max bus voltage to 300mAmps with the ft_prog with no change.

    help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
