Thread: FM/DAB digital radio - THAT WORKS!!

exact same system, i even removed drivers and allowed unit to find drivers from web on car pc and laptop with the result, i then removed the drivers again and dloaded the ftdi drivers from the chip site and installed manually, same result.

the unit installs correctly and creates a com port in device manager, i can even probe the unit with a ftdi programmer, thats how i adjusted the bus voltage of the unit so i know its connected

Were you running the same Vista before or XP ?

For the CB DAB unit to work you need to have the FTDI USBserial driver loaded and configured for it to work.
This driver was for XP and I am not sure if they will work in Vista and more than likely not in W7 64-bit.

Find an updated FTDI USBserial driver for your operating system then configure it and try again.

Have you configured the FTDI driver for the DAB module?
Device Manager -> Ports -> Properties of the USB to Serial device -> Port Settings -> Advanced and set Latency to 1ms.

just tried it same problem,,,,,,,,,,
i have tried numerous leads and baud rates with same error, "invalid port selection", it shows up in device manager perfect and i can connect to it with a FTDI programmer so i dont get it. im thinkin there must be somthing wrong with the part of the main board that supplies power the venice board.

there is 2 vr's on the board in between the 3 capacitors, the output line from vr1 says 3.3 v on the center pin 2 but im getting nothing, pin 1 is negitive which is fine as ive tested continuity and pin 3 has 5.1v in so im thinking this may be ****ed because vr2 has nothing in or out and i think this is wired in series with vr1 which would make sense.

anyone know if pin 2 on vr1 should have 3.3v out or have one they could check on, in the mean time im going to order the vr

Just a long shot but you may want to check if the capacitors are still soldered on properly.
Read a few posts of people with capacitors actually falling off of their pcb!

Has anybody tested the same PCB with a Venice 5 and Corona module to see which has the best signal?

I should have a new screen next week and this means DAB in the car once again!!

Also, I have a spare Verona module with SerMMI FW if anybody is in need?

Please could somebody send me the V7 slave FW?

Hi,

is the plugin for the DAB Radio availabe for Centrafuse 4.3

I have tested the plugin for 3.6 but it is not working. Can somebody complie it for CF 4 or send me the source so I can do it by my self.

I hope someone can help me otherwise the unit is useless.
