I had a quick check and it doesn't appear to be suitable for direct flashing into the module.

OK it seems Philips didn't include the DAB firmware on their latest firmware upgrade this time round.

I have actually managed to download the older version a while back which include the "dab-sermmi-FS2027-0000-0359_V4.2.11.38059-1B19.bin" file. I don't recall having much success getting it to work either, the module refuse to boot up (probably a corrupted file)

Venice 9 with slave firmware is the way to go now. Just perfect for carpc DAB radio.

Sony XDR-S56DBP comes with Venice 9 in slave mode, you can buy them cheap on ebay. Venice 9 is not that common and more expensive than the cheap Verona, for people wanting to build a cheap DAB radio Verona cant be beat, they are not bad at all.

The Venice 9 firmware is compatible with Venice 7 slave firmware and it will work out of the box. You can dump it and flash your Verona like the one here :



This Verona is running a Venice 9 slave firmware bolted on a USB Audio + HID board using I2S for audio (you cant see the Verona, its on the underside)
