Taken me ages to read all this thread...
Just picked up one of these cheap off ebay, should be good enough to get me started...
Although I need to check the solder joints on the caps as it appears to be one of the ones that had to have the caps taken off and resoldered correctly!

I`ve a verona modul and i want to use this in slave mode. I had flash the firmware for the venice7 modul (from post #1680). The problem is that the modul not response on the serial line. It seems that the modul makes a reboot again and again (The modul is ok and works with his old master software). Can anyone send me
a working firmware file for the verona modul or has an idea why it is not working ?

I'm new here and have followed this thread for a while. I bought a Philips radio with a Verona module inside.
My first attempt is to understand the Verona in master mode and started to se what the pins are used for.
There are 3 pins I don't understand - namely 18,19 and 20. 18 might be a pwr pin since it is derived from 3.3V
and lowered by a resistor network to 2.6V. This might be used as an reference for the button pins 25 and 26.
Does anyone know the functions on these pins for sure? Could you please enlighten me.

I finally managed to flash the SerMMI firmeware to my Verona module.
If I try to use it, it says "time not set". I can set the time with 0x4f Alarm. It says Alarms saved and than the time and date is displayed.
If I try to turn it on 0x40 it says again "time not set"
What did i do wrong?

Hi everyone - I'm trying to source what I think is a Venice 7A tuner ( KINO3 / ATMEL AT45DB041D / CS4344 / FS1112 Apollo 2 ) and firmware.
The tuner is identical to the photos of the one posted by askchan in posts #1610 & #1614 and from dabbler top-right in post #1629.
It has a 30-way pin header and provision for 14-way header which is vacant and unused. The Apollo2 / FS1112 baseband tuner is faulty
and has since been removed from the PCB, but I did manage to jot down the firmware revision before it 'gave up the ghost' completely :
The manufacturer can't help (discontinued in 2010) - so, can anyone help me find a tuner or indeed know of a source of any firmware ?
Attached are photos of the tuner, front and back, and the radio from which it came (an intempo MODE).
Very many thanks, Derek

Dump the firmware with http://dybkowski.net/content/en/node/15, get a cheap radio with a Venice 7 module and flash the dumped firmware into the new module. Alternatively, you can transfer the SPI-flash from the old module to the new one. The SPI-flash is the second IC from the left on your image (AT45db041d in SOIC8 package).
