    no AM support i'm afraid.
as soulR said, most stations will probably transmit in DAB anyway, have a check. This is certainly the case in the UK.

Mitch, I'll gladly take you up on your offer if I may, I have a spare module, just tell me what to do!

Does it support the newer and improved Venice 7 module too?
It looks like Venice 7 is a plug-in replacement for Venice 5.1 and 5.0.
Venice 7 has improved sensitivity, stereo separation and lower power consumption than Venice 5.1.
Where do you buy the Venice modules?
Is there any schematic and BOM for the motherboard?

@ Blues venice 7 are still quite rare and expensive. It is not much better than the venice 5 unless you want to receive DAB+ which venice 5.1 is more than adequate.

You will also need the correct firmware for it to act as a slave module. This enable you to use an MCU and fully control the module. Most DAB radio have its module set as a standalone, ie no MCU control required, everything from button push to LCD display are handled by the module itself, this is no good for carpc use.

Venice 5, 5.1 and 7 are all mechanically and electrically compatible. The only difference is the firmware and possibly the serial protocol.

The original circuit is publish in the DAB thread at digital car forum which you can use any module 5, 5.1 or 7.

There is already a centrafuse plugin for it. There is also a developer thread over there.

There is a dll available for this radio so you can use whatever you like to code it. Full schematics are available on the digital car website which was linked earlier in this thread.

Good to see the development on this continuing, for the OZ guys the white Bush Digital radio sold by Dicksmith, The Good Guys etc... (saw it going for $79 AUD in The Good Guys yesterday) looks to be a Venice 7 radio.

Mitchjs has been crunching this dll code for about 3 hours now (linked to my module over ip), full of bugs and its fighting back but he's making some progress with the fm side.

Don't know if he'll be able to help with the dab code as he doesn't understand it, fingers crossed though, hopefully his changes can be added back into the dll for everyone else to access.
