Sorry haven't been following the thread very closely so I may have missed a few things...
Was the issue of station info scrolling instead of sending full strings ever resolved?
Even with efficient programming how long will it take to step from the beginning to the end of the spectrum verse direct tuning (which doesnt exist)?
What type of info can you actually get from the radio when in master mode? Can you even tell what station its tuned to when scanning?
There is no way around the second line scrolling but to be honest, I have found in Centrafuse it just fits the header area nicely anyway (top bar) so it doesn't matter.
It only takes 1-5 seconds to change stations in DAB and up to 10 seconds in FM which isn't too bad.
The first line lists the station you are tuned to or the frequency in FM mode IF no RDS information is available. The second line lists "now playing" information by default but if you hit the display button, it changes what is displayed to signal strength, etc.
So if RDS information is available....tuning to a specific station isn't possible? (since you wouldn't know where you started)Quote:

work around programming, isnt always a good idea you know :)
limitations are limitations, hell it tunes DAB+ and prob thats enough for 95% of the people
who want/need DAB...

in FM mode, if you see the pattern "MHz" on 1st line, then you can "ASSUME" that bit of info is a freq
its an assumption of course
it may and does only last a frame, since RDS PS gets displayed there
course you dont know for sure if you're in FM mode...
but again, i cant see "MHz" showing on 1st line, unless you're in FM
it does show on 2nd line in DAB mode...
when radio turns on, it doesnt tell you if its in FM or DAB...
its not susposed to anyway...

ie, the human, wants dab, well the human will put the button that selects dab
It is a little complicated to do but it works fine on my test system.
Also, take a look at some of the reviews. This isn't good only for DAB. This is beating even the HQCT not having the interference problems it does for FM.

like in my test here, radio in denmark..
they all start with
"DR xxxx"
anxiously awaiting a CF Plugin so i can properly review the Venice 7 and compare it with the Directed HD radio and Boomzbox HD. I'd love to see if i can get better FM reception with a simple dedicated USB device.
BTW, how do i connect a standard motorola style FM antenna to this device? To this point i've been using a bare wire as an antenna lol
