You can try it but I am not sure.

Asterix1965: I had a customer by email having this problem and they told me the following worked: Unplug both devices and restart the computer. Run the FTDI driver cleanup tool they provide in the site. Restart again. Plug the radio in and install the latest FTDI drivers. Restart. Plug in the other device and use the same driver if requested. Restart. It should all work fine then. If not, make sure both are using a seporate port. You can change this in Advanced options.

How about using the MIC IN and turning down the volume of the module so you don't overdrive it ?

Hi Craig,

Picked my radio up from the post office today, looks like it is all in one piece. It will be a while before I can test with my car antenna, but I will let you know how it goes.

you could use the mic in but it might clip.

some motherboards allow you to turn the mic amplification off. in which case the line level input would work.

I have tried 3 Microphone ports (home computer, office computer and laptop) with this and couldn't get any of them to work nor could I find the amplification off feature. Must be rare!

In Windows XP:
1. Double click speaker icon in tray
2. Open menu File
3. Check Advanced Controls
4. Click Advanced button under the audio line you want to configure, eg. MIC IN
5. Now you should see Microphone boost and a checkbox next to it.

More or less the same in Win7/Vista

Using Win7 and don't have those options...

Well, try this then

"There is a mic boost on win7 aswell. goto control panel, then "hardware and sound" go then into "sound" Go into the tab "recording" double click you mic source. then from there goto "custom" There should be able too click on mic boost."
