FM/DAB digital radio - THAT WORKS!!

Ok guys. SO sorry I never got this released last night as promised. A show stopping bug cropped up but this has now been fixed.

Major change is the way station lists work now. Basically, in DAB, you scan which downloads stations to the radio unit. You then use < and > to scroll between then and add any stations you want to the list and then they can be clicked and within 2 seconds, the station will be playing assuming good signal. FM now works the same way and is very quick.

Please post any feedback here ASAP so we can get the final over to Centrafuse for inclusion in 3.2.

Quick question / comment about the noise in my system. After listening to it more I have highlighted two distinct and separate noises.

The first is engine / alternator whine, is linked in with the RPM. I'm guessing an inline ground loop filter might help with this? Such as

I am also getting some noise from the computer. With the DAB_Master test app, after I open the COM port I can hear what sounds like Morse code, beeping on and off. If I close the port the radio continues to play, but the sound stops. Similar to this I also get some noise when I touch my touchscreen, this is more noticeable if I "drag and drop" something as I am touching the screen for longer than just a press. Eg: if I drag the test app from one side of the screen to the other. Would a better shielded cable as discussed earlier help with this?

Just trying to work out if I need one or the other, or both.

I used to have exactly the same problems in my carpc until I recently overhauled my dodgy wiring. Previously I had my OPUS being grounded to a different point on the car to where my amp was grounded and I *think* this might have caused grounding issues and thus the noise.

I've now got everything going via 2 distribution blocks - one for power coming from the battery and one for ground to the chassis. Now that everything is getting its power from one point and grounded to one point, the noises seem to have vanished.... so far anyway.

I'm definitely no expert on this but, perhaps check if any of your carpc, amp or devices are using different power or grounding points.

There will be a few days. We are updating it to work the same way as our Centrafuse plugin now works.

Thanks SpaceMonkey, I am using the same ground point for the computer and the amp, and it has only appeared with the radio module, so not sure. Maybe the grounding of the antenna that connects to the radio has done something. I'm a bit like you, no expert on this stuff.

Also, on the plugin: I must be doing something stupid. I have extracted the UltimateRadio folder to the plugin directory and it shows up with "cam" and "ODBII" etc, but then when I press and hold a blank button in CF, the plug-in isn't in the list to choose from.

I double checked that it extracted into the right directory but I am still stuck :(

I take it you are using CF 3.1? Have you tried going into Button Management in settings and re-selecting to add a button?

Yes. using 3.1.

It worked fine on my home PC following the instructions from enforcer (thanks for that enforcer), but not on the carputer.

Yep, tried button management as well, still no joy.
