I have a question when it comes to DAB/DAB+ radio, is it normal to have some signal errors when driving? When I'm standing still I have 0 in lost bytes but when I drive I have between 0 to up to 20 bits lost in the info window. I don't hear this lost bytes so it is no problem. Just wonder if it's normal or not.
I'll check but I think mine only ever reads 1-5 when driving when I tested it. I'd say it is down to your antenna / aerial setup as you have basically connected both DAB and FM to the same connector. It really needs multiplexing.

For the moment when I start my PC, RideRunner is loaded but the venice7 module failing to load. I have to exit riderunner and start it again. I guess this has something to do with the usb/serial software is not loaded fast enough in the startup and I have to delay the startup of Riderunner some seconds in some way to get it to work.
I will have a word with Mitch about this. We solved this in our Centrafuse and standalone software a while back.

The second problem is that I have very smal amount of disturbance. This is hardly notice when I have the volume on the venice7 module on maximum. But if I lower it to half I can hear it. This is something to do with some ground loops or something from the antenn ground. I will have to trouble shoot my ground. When I remove the connector between my soundcard and the radio modul it stops.
Are you using a 3.5mm audio cable with ferrities? This solved it for me.

    Heddan,

I have only run into two minor problems. For the moment when I start my PC, RideRunner is loaded but the venice7 module failing to load. I have to exit riderunner and start it again. I guess this has something to do with the usb/serial software is not loaded fast enough in the startup and I have to delay the startup of Riderunner some seconds in some way to get it to work.
no, its not anything to do with any "module" failing to load... but im sure it can be figured out... i would need "start my pc" defined, and you should enable radio debugging and debuging, and then we would have a debug log to review... if the usb device isnt present when you run rr, its not going to find the tuner... that simple

The second problem is that I have very smal amount of disturbance. This is hardly notice when I have the volume on the venice7 module on maximum. But if I lower it to half I can hear it. This is something to do with some ground loops or something from the antenn ground. I will have to trouble shoot my ground. When I remove the connector between my soundcard and the radio modul it stops.
what kind of noise, whine? or data sounding noise? its most likey a design issue with the sound card, they just arnt made for automotive environments.. there could be a ground difference from the USB ground and the audio ground, this small amount of resistance is enough to allow noise to flow on the audio cable, (its flowing on the usb cable too)
a change in grounding of audio maybe solve it, utimatly it prob will be easier to ISOLATE the grounds... if its small amount of noise, ferrites might help, but i wouldnt bet on it...
it is best to keep the INTERNAL volume of the venice7 high, maybe 3/4ish, the higher the signal the lower the noise would be
one thing is the level the venice7 puts out is VERY low... i considering a opamp with with gain, to increase the level and buffer the audio...
    -Thanks
    Mitch

    Hi Mitch.
Yes, I agree with you that it is not a fault in the radio module. I also think it is that the usb device is not loaded quick enough when win7 is starting and RR is starting before it is presented. Sorry for my bad english

I'm planing to reinstall my carpc and change back to winXP again and will not do anything about this before the reinstall.

When it comes to the noise it is more data sounding noise. Yes, it is a grounding problem. I tried and ground the antenn cable with an extra cable from a different place and got much more of the noise. For the moment the noise is very low/not possible to hear if I put max volume on the venice7 module. So there is no problem/fault with the venice7 module. It's an internal problem with my system. I have the system installed in an BMW E39T and that model is known to be hard to install car audio in because of it is very easy to get ground problems.

I'm running an Auzentech X-meridian soundcard today. But because of some driver issue with Win7 I couldn't use the line in on the x-meridian for the venice7 sound. I had to use my built in sound card line-in. I think X-meridian sound card is more resistant for ground problem and hope my downgrade to winXP will solve the driver problem so I can use x-meridian line-in.

No, I'm using a simple 3.5mm audio cable now. I will buy a 3.5mm audio cable with ferrities and try it.

I am fairly confident you will find this works. We will be selling these alongside the units shortly.

Right. I have just sent off ALL outstanding orders so they should be with you Monday-Tuesday for UK customers and up to 2 weeks for everywhere else. Apologies for the delay but we exhausted stock again. This unit has proved to be very popular. I have a small stock left so if anyone wants one quickly, I suggest you order now as the Centrafuse email will be going out next week and that will likely see a rush of orders...

Has anyone had any luck with getting the plugin to work with CF? I'm still struggling on 32bit XP system, but my Windows7 setup on the home PC works ok.

I just can't see the plugin when I touch and hold a blank button, or in the button layout menu. I've double checked the location that the UltimateRadio folder gets extracted to etc. I've uninstalled CF and re-installed (and selected the option to NOT retain user data as I couldn't see a folder called the username to delete), so yeah, out of ideas. I have version 3.1.24.309 of CF.

I am contemplating putting W7 on the carpc anyway, but just wanted to see if there was any more ideas out there before I go down that path.

    Thanks, Tom.

    Hi All,

Glad to see this is moving along very nicely!

I had a look at the module, just curious how people are mounting them? Is it possible to get 4 holes on the model for mounting?

    Cheers

The latest version works in my Car PC (Win 7 32 bit), our XP development machine and a virtual Win 7 64 bit machine. 6 testers also confirmed it works fine. You will likely find after the reinstall you mentioned, it will work fine. Download the latest CF version from the members area.

http://www.digital-car.co.uk/forum/s...postcount=1813 is how one user mounted the unit. There are 4 holes at the bottom of the unit so in theory, you could just fire a longer bolt through the Venice chip, through the PCB and then through whatever you are mounting to and bolt at the other end.

That's what I have been thinking that I would do if there isn't enough space for it inside the case that my CarPC is in.
