FM/DAB digital radio - THAT WORKS!!

Hi, have exactly same problems with it, my cable is about 2 metres long.

I thought I would post some piccies of my latest effort.

PCB on the left, poplulated PCB in the middle and the older board on the right

Here's the spec

1. Venice 5.1 DAB/DAB+ and FM
2. Slave firmware, runs with AndyWhittaker's plugin or the Venice 5 on RoadRunner
3. Audio over USB using a TI PCM2902 Chip or 3.5mm Jack
4. Draws 456mA under full load, Approximately 520mA on plugin
5. Only 52 x 45mm
6. Extremely large ground plane so less interference and more sensitivity

2. Will this board be for sale anytime soon?
3. Estemated cost of just the board?

I am very intrested in this board so I will be watching closely in future updates

If you can get one that works with the venice 7's, and still supports USB audio, I'm down for one

Reminds me, I need to pull apart this DAB+ radio I have at work, and see whether the module in it is removeable, and which unit it is. We can't pick up the DAB+ inside our office (Metal framing in the walls), so I'm going to replace it with a normal stereo running through our net connection, and take it home to pull to bits

venice 5/5.1/7 are all pin compatible so you can just bolt in whichever module you like.

the only difference is the software you use. for 5 and 5.1 its slave. for 7 its master

answers to your questions:

1. Yes it will work. Just a question of bolting a venice 7 in. For Oz the 5.1 with slave firmware is better IMO.

2. I don't do marketing or selling. If I was to sell this then I would get someone else to do it. I hate queueing at post offices and the such like, which is why I sold the original board to Craig. The other issue is I am totally pedantic about assembly and every board I built was frozen to minus 20 and heated to +40C to check for poor solder joints. It was also subjected to vibration, this is not a way to run a profitable business but my name means quite a lot to me.

3. cost of board and bits is Approximately $25CDN. This is dependent on how many are ordered at any one time.

I'm thinking that I'd quite like to test out a Venice5, what's the best model to rip one out of that's still readily available?
