I was just about to order a tuner, but seems to be a good idea to hold back.

As i see it there are problems with build quality and modules that for some reasons fails (go dead)

Maybe the best and maybe even cheaper way would be to get a radio and take out the venice chip and connect it to a more pro made board.

It is working fine for me using CF and several other people. The issues faced are only happening to a few people who I am communicating with via help desk ticket.

You have several problems in doing (ie having to build a flasher board to flash the correct firmware, etc) this and it will end up costing you more than the board we sell.

No need for a flasher board as the module is a pick out of a sony radio that do come with v5 slave fw on it and there are a RR plugin for that. As i see it the radio is arround 29£ and the board can be done for arround 20£, so it will not be near as much as the 65£ you sell at. There is even money left for a nice little box to protect it.

This is the way I see it... dont know what crazypug have on mind here

That board isn't DAB+ though so isn't future proofed and can't even support countries like Australia.

I can only speak for myself, but in Denmark dab+ is of no use, i wonder if we will see it within the next 10 years, if DAB goes like everything else here it will not be before I move to the retirement home.

Some of the sony radios have venice 5.1s in them which is a straight bolt in and receives DAB+

The slave firmware is the real attraction of the V5. Master firmware seems restrictive.

Getting a new XDRS55 is probably better than getting a 2nd hand one then, or are talking about a different model? XDR-S10 I think is V7 isn't it?

RR boys got their free plugin working ages ago, and is rock solid. :first:

I can confirm that, CF plugin is useless, u cannot use CF freely while using plugin, always think what you r doing, or comp hangs... at least.
