These lines should fix @ and " and the pound symbol for the UK keyboard layout, no custom Windows keyboard layout needed:

    CHATPAD_KEY_W + CHATPAD_GREEN = KEYBOARD_KEY_APOSTROPHE + KEYBOARD_LEFT_SHIFT

    CHATPAD_KEY_J + CHATPAD_ORANGE = KEYBOARD_KEY_2 + KEYBOARD_LEFT_SHIFT

    CHATPAD_KEY_F + CHATPAD_ORANGE = KEYBOARD_KEY_3 + KEYBOARD_LEFT_SHIFT

You'll still need a later control utility version for the # and ~ symbols, however. Of course, if you see any more bluescreens, PM or email me and we can try to get rid of them.

To anyone using Windows 7 x64... Other than F8 at startup, is there a way to get around the driver signature restrictions? I can't figure out how to do this part.

You need to press F8 right after the BIOS stuff goes away, right before Windows boots. You might press it a few times to give yourself a better chance of hitting the timing window. Other alternatives are using some Windows test signing mode (if I test signed the driver), but that may display ugly watermarks, or, there MAY be a way if you're using a version of Windows 7 that's "better" than Home Premium. Try the instructions here:

Thanks for the info GAF. I do have Ultimate x64 so I'll look at that next. Right now though, it's working GREAT for me on my other computer (It has Windows 7 Ultimate x86). Kudos on a job well done!!

Small bug report, not really that important but it's worth mentioning

Unless my configuration is wrong for this... Putting this in:

    CHATPAD_KEY_LEFT + CHATPAD_KEY_SHIFT + CHATPAD_GREEN = KEYBOARD_KEY_HOME + KEYBOARD_LEFT_SHIFT
Produces the following error, and then the control utility closes:

    ****
Chatpad control utility version 0.1a started.
    ****
    Please wait...

    Control utility started.
Error, expected chatpad key modifier but found "CHATPAD_KEY_SHIFT".
There was an error parsing the following config mapping line:
    CHATPAD_KEY_LEFT + CHATPAD_KEY_SHIFT + CHATPAD_GREEN = KEYBOARD_KEY_HOME + KEYBOARD_LEFT_SHIFT
There was an error while attempting to load config file "chatpad_config.txt".
Done. The exit status is -1.
I intended this specific line to implement <Shift>+<Home>, which highlights text from the cursor position to the start of the current line, when Green, Shift, and Left are pressed.

Chatpad keys can only be modified by chatpad modifiers, listed in the README.TXT file under "Chatpad key modifiers". You can use these modifiers after CHATPAD_KEY_LEFT:

    CHATPAD_SHIFT
    CHATPAD_GREEN
    CHATPAD_ORANGE
    CHATPAD_PEOPLE

I did add another bug report earlier today though, since I noticed that if you hold orange and press green, instead of letting go of orange before pressing green, it doesn't seem to activate both modifiers properly. The workaround is to let go of the buttons, but I want to fix this eventually if I can.

ill be trying the drivers this weekend gaf!

i feared that once you told me i have to read a getting started page to install these drivers, it might be complicated. but after glancing at that page it actually seems like you made it as easy as it could possibly be.

so im excited to try it. ill let you know how it goes!

I think I get it now. So instead of CHATPAD_KEY_SHIFT, I would need to use CHATPAD_SHIFT?
